i use pdf24. they have a free desktop tool but also the website is helpful… merge your documents in a pdf file and select the quality when saving. this will reduce the size of the file. you can also choose to save without color which helps… if you really have many documents that need to go into one file and some are even pictures then you should use an OCR scan which the website also can do. this way you can save a lot smaller pdf file. images take the most space.

I used. I love pdf app. Quite good and free for 3 things per day. Very good compression and merge tools for combining various pages. For photos, I had to convert them to pdf first so I could add in combining pdf pages.
