I need to exit Thailand mid of this month to do a "visa run". As I am based in Bangkok: what is the most effective / cost effective way to do do so ?
Thank you for your recommendations / advice.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The post discusses effective and cost-efficient ways for a visa run from Bangkok, suggesting various options like taking a night bus to Nong Khai/Vientiane for a visa transfer, flying to Phnom Penh, or exploring cheap flights to Kuala Lumpur. Comments provide insights into organized border runs to Cambodia, recommending companies and sharing personal experiences about traveling and visa processing. Overall, Vientiane is frequently mentioned as a convenient destination for visa-related tasks.
Try search AirAsia ticket to nearby destination. Could be quite cheap and save a lot of time travelling.

"Thai visa service" border run to Cambodia almost daily from Bangkok, 3500B.
If you want best method then depending on your history in Thailand, flying is far more comfortable.

Go to Vientiane. Make an appointment online for the date you want. Drop off your passport and documents say on a Monday, then pick it up on a Wednesday. Easy city to get around.
- Would I do a round trip to Vietnam (And probably stay one night): I should get automatically a 30 days tourist visa while entering back Thailand. Correct ? (I am French)
yes, but check the Embassy Website for holidays and opening hours. They open only for 1-2 hours in the morning to drop your docs.
Check the requirements. Proof of flight in and out of Thailand, proof of funds and accommodation.

Do you mean a āborder bounceā where you just leave and come immediately back, or a āvisa runā where you visit a nearby consulate to buy a new visa?

I have to exit Thailand and come back. So, better to do an overnight stay in another nearby country?
most borders donāt require an overnight stay. Others familiar with the Bangkok options for border bounces will be able to suggest companies that provide this service. You can DIY but itās usually easier with a company greasing the wheels so to speak.
