What Are My Options for Obtaining a Long-Term Visa in Thailand After Exhausting Land Crossings?

When I first came to thialand I got myself a 12 month Ed visa of which I canceled after five months as I was offered work in Finland and couldn't make emigration obligations. I returned two months later on a 30 entry which I extended once before returning home to the UK. I then returned with O ly an 30 day entry and have stayed since doing land boarder crossings when needed to stay legal. My problem now arises as I've exhausted the land crossings so I went to a school to re start my Thai lessons. However they tell me if I want a second Ed visa I need to apply from my home country. And nowhere closer ( Vietnam Lao etc) will give me a second Ed. Can anyone please suggest any alternative options that will allow me any type of 12 visa? I have a little over 6 weeks to sort something out. Thank you in advance.

Apparently a volunteer visa is a possibility can anyone advise me?

Just so you're clear you're not gonna get a year-long, multi-entry non-ED visa from any thai consulate. You'd enroll in a school, pay the tuition, get paperwork, go to a thai consulate and apply for a 90 day single entry ED visa. Then you'd get extensions from the immigration office.

I'd say the school is about right, you have the best chance of getting the ED visa from a thai consulate in your country.

Just curious, why haven't you got any REAL tourist visas? Go to a thai consulate nearby and apply for a single entry tourist visa.

with hindsight I wish I had I guess I was given poor advice in the past and continued the way I had been do as I didn't think the second Ed was an issue

Yep, that's about the wayt it will be. You'd have to go back to your country to get a 90 day non-ED visa.

I don't know any thai consulate in the area that will issue one

You could enroll in a real university for a degreed program and get an ED visa that way.
