Can I get a clarification on if the nonkhai border is closed.  I see many post and comments even from moderators using the word "closed". It is my understanding that the border is open but the ability to get a VOA is not available and the requirements to cross are becoming more strict. 

Vocabulary choice in the coming days are very important because I haven't seen anything saying Laos border are officially closed.

Unless you're Thai, you CAN NOT get a visa to enter Laos in Thailand. Without a visa, Thai immigration would not let you pass.

The requirement is still the same; get a visa. However, unless you go back to your home country, you can't get a visa to enter Laos.

IF you are in Laos right now, you can cross out of Vientiane into Nong Khai as normal.

Cambodia seems to be the only one allowing it now. My friend just had to cancel his border run through Laos and then cancel the one for Myanmar. He was able to do Cambodia through Sakgeo

I don’t know about Laos but I had all the CAAT requirements to go to Yangon this morning and they didn’t let me board. Said things have changed as of today. Hope you get better luck
