Is Promenada Mall in Chiang Mai Open for Immigration Services?

I deleted a post about whether Promenada Mall was open or not because I guess until 9 (which is when they open) we really won't know..

Elliot Butler can you update us on whether they open or not?

As of now the immigration at promanada has stopped giving out extensions tickets. It seems they are still giving out tickets for 90 day reporting.

All the officers working still are confirming tomorrow will be open at 9am like usual.

I'd love to hear if anyone has tried asking for a 30-day extension based on *not* being able to get a letter from the embassy but still being from one of the countries listed as affected by COVID-19, which is the third option in that letter posted a few days ago.

Someone I was with at Promenada today was able to get a 7day extension on top of his already extended visa exemption stamp. He had no letter from his embassy.

I'll be surprised if they issue it. If you try to get that letter, come with a *very good* reason why you deserve that extension of stay, and when they say no, go and book your tickets out of Thailand. Don't stay unless you have a very good reason.

So can I ask. Tomorrow I will do a regular 30 day tourist exempt extension. Do I go to the main office of immigration by the airport or to promenada?

If you're trying to get a 30 day extension based on being a tourist, it's added to your existing stamp; you will not lose time. Go today; things are changing *FAST*

Issuing tickets now at promenada. Only 10 people allowed inside the office at any one time. You will get your ticket and wait outside until your number is called.
