TLDR : Answer Summary
The discussion revolves around the feasibility of conducting a visa run from Thailand to either Singapore or Vietnam for a Jamaican-American Permanent Resident. Key points include the necessity of visas for entry, with Vietnam requiring a visa for American passport holders while Singapore only requires health clearance if fully vaccinated. Alternatives such as Cambodia or Laos are suggested, which can offer visa-on-arrival options. The conversation emphasizes checking eligibility based on nationality and the ease of obtaining visas in neighboring countries.
gotcha! I think I should be fine. I have a green card as well so worst case, Vietnam and Cambodia are cheap enough to stay in for a while if I need to go to the embassy.
And easy getting around. 'Nam Idk have never been.

Vietnam you will need visa for entry as an American passport holder. Singapore no visa required just health clearance which is easy enough if you are fully vaccinated.
better let someone else advise about singapore then who have done it.
It is expensive to stay though i am actually in Singapore at the moment.
You got a great country though spent great time there when i was younger 35 years ago in mobay for the splash negril and mandeville. Was just fate led me to Thailand
thanks for the advice. And yeah SG is ridiculously expensive. Hotels are like minimum 40$ for a tiny room. And 200$ on average with very little amenities to offer.
