TLDR : Answer Summary
Applying for a 60-day tourist Thai visa in Singapore may not be as easy as some might hope, as the Thai consulate there has specific requirements for documentation. While some expats have found success by submitting their documents online, others have pointed out that the process is not straightforward. Key requirements include proof of onward travel and adequate finances, with strict documentation checks. The Singapore Thai embassy does not offer walk-up service, meaning all submissions and appointments must be done online.
If you're looking for an easy peasy chicken squeezy thai consulate to pull a single entry tourist visa with minimum documentation Singapore ain't it.
Right now the easiest thai consulate to get a tourist visa from is in Vientiane Lao. They require no proof of funds, no onward travel, no hotel booking.
Apologies Alex - they asked to see my flight into and out of Thailand, and proof of lodging but they didn't ask to see any financials (I had 20k on me in baht just in case either the consultant or Immigration asked to see it, but neither did).

I was in KL getting an SETV in August - they need all of the 'proof-ofs' that Tod refers to above. Quick and efficient and not too busy though.

Mike Jones different consulates want different documentation
Some require all of what I call the "3-proof-ofz"
proof of 20K baht in a bank account
proof of onward travel in 60 days
proof of a confirmed hotel booking
Some require one or two of them but right now only Vientiane requires none of them. I'd look at the thai consulate in KL's website and see what they require.. I think the thai consulate in Penang requires 2 of the 3 things but I don't know which ones
, there was a person who posted on here that it worked like a charm.
He submitted his documentation online and they sent him a confirmation and time to come and get the visa stamped in.
You need to tick all the boxes as far as what they want documentation wise and as long as you do the system works fine.
3. Travel tickets in and out of Thailand <- that means you need proof of onward travel within 60 days
4. Evidence of adequate finance
Single-Entry Tourist Visa: $1000 per person and $2000 per family <- that means you show a bank statement with $1000 in it to get a single entry tourist visa.
They are a no nonsense consulate, you meet their requirements or you don't get the visa.
you need to show onward travel OUT of thailand, meaning IF you're tryin' to use a bus ticket it can't go just to the border, :/ it's gotta go to a place in another country. Close doesn't count. :P
