Hello all - I am mid application on the e-visa service for a single entry non-o - the website has a popup stating that covid insurance is only required now for non-oa and non-ox and stv - but my application is still forcing a insurance certificate for $100k to be uploaded to finish the application? Is anybody in the same boat and can shed some light on this situation.

Just posting an update on this for all as I think there is much confusion around this and a few have come up against it.

The embassy replied to me that categorically no insurance is needed for single entry non-o and that a screenshot as above image should be uploaded to that form field of the application asking for $100k COVID insurance.

I had already done this at the advice of a comment below and my visa was approved without insurance of any kind this morning. So to be clear the London Embassy which is all I am commenting on about here is not asking for insurance of any kind for the single entry non-o visa.

To clear this up. In the picture question nr 10 which you get when you apply for the Non Immigrant O visa. It clearly states: " for Coronavirus Disease(COVID-19)"

I understand it is very confusing and it seems that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs did not update the questionnaire attached to the visa applications.

I would suggest, copy and past the pop up, or picture or the way you are more knowledgeable to use computers, and put the pop up as answer of this question.

I hope we will see an update of the website soon OR please share us your experience in answers after application. THANKS

right, this thread is about a 90 day Non-O visa applied for on the eVisa system for retirement or marriage in the UK or US and the required 100K USD insurance you need to get those visas. Tourist visa doesn't require it

that's what many people are doing, coming in on a single entry tourist visa, getting things in place and then applying for the in country Non-O visa (y) gets you around the insurance requirement 🙂

I think insurance still should be mandatory but each to their own. Non O is less hassle I think, getting doctor sign off medical certificate here is a struggle, my doctor basically doesn't want sign anything....they have no idea what its about. Like most things in uk now nobody knows what they are doing.

They lift the insurance requirement for entry and/or Thailand pass. But insurance requirement for getting a visa at each embassy/consulate hasn't changed. If the embassy where you are applying requires insurance, you need to have insurance. Be sure you are not mixing those.

, Sorry made you confused. I mentioned it above because you didn't mention the reason for Non-O, and people are easily confusing that the two types of insurance requirements. One of the reasons I commented is a warning for those. If you are applying for Non-O based on marriage, you may not need the insurance for the visa itself, then follow the advice you were given by Robert.

they'll give you a few chances to fix any issues. They won't just deny the visa if you don't submit everything they need.

Beware though that once you submit through evisa, you're done with that system. Any future requests for new documents will be done through email, you can't upload new items through evisa after you submit.

So keep an eye on your status in evisa and if it changes to something like "request additional documents" check your email and spam filter.
