Hey There, Going to Laos to get a 60day visa. How many days will this take? Same as penang? day 1 applying and day 2 picking it up before 14:00? Thanks!

In Vientiane - Laos - Application closes about Noon 1200 - if you can get there before much easier to be confident & normally (!) 24-hour turnaround - pick up after 1300 next day - I leave Bkk on train about 2000 - Day 1 - train at border 0700 - so - visit Consulate am Day 2 - collect Day 3 - 1300 or after - good luck

ALL extensions of stays are 1900baht no matter the length of time they are issued for and no matter what visa they're issued on

Overstay fines are 500 baht a day and they cap out after 40 days at 20K baht.

After 13:00. They give them back in the order they received the applications the previous day, you get your queue number at the time of application which should give you an idea of when you'll get it back, they go through them at a rate of around 200 an hour.

Umm keep in mind that both thai consulates in Lao (Vientiane & Savannakhet) are closed Monday and Tuesday next week.

If I was you I would leave on a Sunday to get to the Embassy on a Monday...Just FYI the border closes at night with Laos and Thailand and re-opens at 0600 or somewhere around there...yes drop off day pick up the next day
