Hi, my father is coming to Thailand in December, and will enter on the visa exemption stamp.  I believe that means he can stay 45 days, as he is British.

How many times can that be extended in Chaengwattana, and therefore what would be the total time he could stay before heading back to the UK?

He will be eligible for ONE 30 days tourism extension at the immigration temporary office at IT Square Laksi Plaza, not at Chaengwattana. His stay counts start as the arrival date is day 1. Tourism extension would be added (top-up) to his stamp. He can stay up to 75 days including arrival day.
