TLDR : Answer Summary
A traveler from Tanzania encountered issues with their tourist e-visa upon arrival in Bangkok, being denied entry due to the visa's unrecognition. The situation suggests the possibility of it being a scam, as Tanzanians currently cannot apply for an e-visa and are required to obtain a visa through the Thai embassy. The community suggested checking the visa through official channels and emphasized applying directly through government resources to avoid scams. Immigration's stricter policies on Tanzanian applicants, given the rising concerns about illegal work and overstays, added another layer to the discussion.
This directs Tanzanian applicants to apply at the embassy in Nairobi… proving that e-visa is not available for Tanzanian nationals and passport holders. Meaning
there are many countries that don't have Thai embassies. Their applications are processed by the Thai embassy that has jurisdiction over that area. It doesnt mean those people cannot apply for visas just because there's no embassy in their country. EVERY Thai embassy in the world switched to e-visa on January 1st. There is no other option anymore.

Get from Thai embassy in country you live in

There is a possibility she got refused for a few reasons. You need to establish a good reason to visit, enough money to spend for the duration, usually around 20k baht, and a good reason you will return. Some SE Asian countries require that to enter as well.
The evisa is fake Tanzania’s can not apply for evisa.

What was she coming for ? Did she have a hotel booked or a return flight ? Plenty of spending money ? I know that is what the immigration look for here in Australia ?
The visa can be very real, but the IO can still refuse entry.

Immigration have said it is not real, not sure what you want to check as it is up to them the allow or deny entry. They have said it is fake and she can't enter, as others said if she applied through the correct channels and been approved then she would have been issued a real visa and would have be allowed to enter.

She's been robbed by a scammer so she will have to go back home to sort it out

She is from Tanzania, big risk of over stay and illegal working. Don't think they can easially get visas.
Very different to big fat old cashed up white guys.
Why do you need an agent for a tourist visa anyway?
Just go to the official gov site and apply, simple as that and foolproof

She would check if the visa is real or not by logging into her e-visa account (which is where you apply for a Thai visa everywhere in the world). That's where she would see her visa application and her visa that was issued. If she didn't get the visa from the Thai embassy through e-visa then there is no way to say if it's real or not.
