Had question about TM 30. Have never filed one. Went to immigration and they said owner would have to file since leasing 

A house . I am not on lease just friend. Owner says can't be bothered . Anything we can do without the owner doing paperwork. ? Can friend file since on lease ? I just live there .

Chiang Mai immigration office was fining people the 1600baht for the owner of the property not having filed a TM.30 and then letting people do it on their own without any documentation at all :/

I would say unless you're going to be getting an extension of stay or something else from the immigration office don't even worry about it.

Yes , correct .I used them last week . My only accommodation proof was my AirBnB receipt . They still provided a Resident Certificate by 1:30pm the same day , on a 30 day exempt stamp .

you were correct ! Want cert of residence! Went to agent Tian at 10 had cert back at 3 . 1000 baht . TM 30 did not come up so saved 1600 there . Will do TM30 future date . They do for 300 baht !!

There is a "service" (read "agent") up there in Chiang Mai that can get resident certificates issued in a few hours (for a fee). I think they are on the second floor of the Promenada in the old office that G4T (another agent) used to be in.

, you would probably need to get the TM.30 filed first, then use the receipt of having filed that, your rental contract and maybe the owners i/d and house book

I don't know because each immigration office handles it differently

how would a bank even know about a TM.30 form? Are you sure they weren't wanting proof of residence from you? Which you get from the immigration office or from your consulate?

If the owner is not bothered to follow the Thai law you have a problem, You need copy of his/hers ID and house book to file the TM30.

Nonthaburi are sticklers for this as its a requirement, No Tm30 no extension, again that's Nonthaburi, im in the same position, but luckily my friend is a good one

If it's Jomtien Immigration, they will want the owner or landlord for the fine. You maybe able to pay it yourself. It needs to be paid by somebody or you'll not get the extension
