TLDR : Answer Summary
A user is seeking advice on how to extend their wife's DTV visa, which is set to expire on March 11, as she is due to give birth next month. Responses suggest that it is too early to apply for an extension and recommend doing a border run to get another 180-day stamp instead. Additionally, it is noted that extensions vary by immigration office and require updated paperwork and financial documents.
TM30. Fill in form TM47 at the office. Copy passport pages 1 Bio page 2 visa stamp 3 entry stamp. That is what is required the office I use. I do not even see Immogration Officer. Hand it to clerk who checks for completeness. Get it back 20 to 30 mins later all complete.
its not my idea to carelessly wait until the last month. could have easily did the border run in the last few months to get a new stamp and a free mind. so what options are there? if traveling isnt one then get the extension done and go probably multiple times to the immigration office until you have all documents they will require….

Better if she bounces at a border to get another 180 day stamp. She's way too early to get an extension now, typically when there are 30 days left, tho some main offices allow up to 45 days.

Varies between immigration offices. All previous paperwork and financial documents updated to application date of extension date
