Hi, asking for a friend who’s not on Facebook. He’s just got a new UK passport and is wondering about whether he needs to transfer his visa / entry stamp. He’s currently on a non immigrant F visa valid to the end of the year and a stay permit to the end of 2021. Does he need to get the visa transferred to his new passport or can he just take both passports to the airport with him when he travels? He’s not planning any international travel soon (!) but will fly domestically in the next few months. Thanks in advance.

There is no year long Non-immigrant Type F visa, so he's on an extension of stay and he NEEDS to go transfer the stamps to the new passport. He needs the letter from VFS Global that states he got a new passport while inside thailand and take both passports to his immigration office to get the current extension transferred to the new passport
