TLDR : Answer Summary

It highlights that different local immigration offices may have varying rules about whether the funds must be transferred from outside Thailand.

, you have to have your funds in your bank account as of the application date with a bank letter, even just for one day. BUT you need to check with your local immigration office. We are aware that there are a few immigration offices that require you to have funds for 2 months in your Thai bank account for in-country initial visa application such as the Jomtien office.
that's a totally different scenario. Make your own post, please.

You need to check with the local immigration office in the province you are going to live about the detailed financial requirements for in-country Non-O based on retirement.
Many offices have requirements that 800K baht in your bank account has to be transferred internationally, while some, such as Chiang Mai, don't care if it's an international transfer or not.
say someone applies for the initial non-o in a province that doesn't require international transfer. Will it be an issue for further extensions if that person moves to a province that requires it ?
