I recently got my Non o visa (retirement) in Penang. When i apply for my extension in Phuket, do i need to show proof of funds again?

, the regular documentation for your extension, you're only using the income letter from your consulate to meet the financial requirements

ALthough you could be asked to show proof of what you put on the income letter is true (by pension letters, tax statements, bank balances) I have never seen a single person asked and have not been asked the last 9 years I've used the income letter for my yearly extensions.

, AFAIK, there are NO reports of any immigration office spot checking an income letter from any consulate. They are accepted at face value. If an office was doing this it would have swept the inter-web.

, you are confusing the requirements for getting a year-long, multi-entry Non-Immigrant Type O-A visa from a thai consulate in your home country with getting a yearly extension of stay inside the country based on being over 50 (retirement).

You don't need a background check OR a medical certificate to get a yearly extension
