I am going to Bangkok Immigration next week to register my TM30 as I’m moving into my wife’s mothers home in Bangkok. Do I need to take her blue book and ID card (she can’t come with me) or will a signed photocopy of both be ok?
Thank you 🙏

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user plans to register their TM30 at Bangkok Immigration and asks whether a signed photocopy of their wife's blue book and ID card will suffice since she cannot accompany them. Commenters provide insights, noting that Bangkok doesn't strictly enforce TM30 lodgement but caution that registering is advisable due to potential fines. Experiences from other locations suggest that immigration offices may accept signed photocopies, as seen in Chiang Mai.
Each immigration office are different, but in Chiang Mai, signed photocopies are ok

Bangkok doesn’t enforce TM30 lodgement, so need to lodge if you don’t want...
Personally I always do in case things change...and some foreigners have been caught out in Bangkok when immigration visit condos etc...meant to be the owner who pays the fine but often ends up being the foreigner who pays as immigration refuse to process extensions, 90’day reports etc without the fine being paid.
Joshua Sasiprapa well according to Tod and others it’s not enforced in BKK, but...as I said I always did it anyway... if you search TM30 on here you will see the majority of people say it’s not... so many different opinions lol...that’s why I always play it safe and lodge

Glen Shkolar they do indeed enforce here in Bangkok ,the last 2 times I have done it people before me have been paying fines for not updating or lodging the tm30 ,I got caught out last extension but the officer gave me a warning and made me do it on the spot because my wife was present .did it once at immigration office now have registered online and do it via the online option 👍👍photocopies are fine I think they never asked for originals it's a fairly simple process took both times less than 10-15mins
