Has anyone signed up to learn Thai food to get a DTV visa? Seems like a lot of Thai agents use this to help with visa applications

TLDR : Answer Summary
This discussion revolves around the viability of enrolling in Thai cooking courses as a means to obtain a DTV visa. Several users share their experiences, emphasizing that applying directly to the school is preferable to going through agents, who often charge additional fees. Recommendations for specific cooking schools in Chiang Mai and Bangkok are also provided, along with advice on ensuring compliance with immigration checks after course completion.
Or you arectied to the agent for paperwork for 5 years at whatever prices they think they can get out of you. Just waiting for those that paid 100k each and never went near a school or course. Foreign agents who can just disappear

You have a school name you can help with and how much did you pay for the school? Thanks for sharing.

I did, i actually start ny course tomorrow. You DO NOT need an agent, apply directly with the school via their website. All the email communications are very clear.
price when I signed up in January was 1175usd, for the 2 week program. The price is now listed at 1375usd. You need to attend the classes in person- 9am - 2pm
thanks. One class in 5 years seems too good to be true but hope it is. Appreciate your response.

They do and then massively mark up prices to get you the DTV. Go direct to the school, get the papers and do it yourself. It is not hard and the school and people in this group will help guide you.
