TLDR : Answer Summary
The discussion revolves around the inability to apply for a Non-B visa at the London embassy due to their temporary closure. Participants emphasize that travelers must secure a Certificate of Entry (COE) from the embassy to board flights to Thailand, regardless of the visa type they hold. Some contributors noted the high costs and quarantine requirements associated with travel to Thailand amidst the ongoing pandemic. Recent comments indicate that the embassy's website issues have been resolved, potentially allowing for application submissions.
Are you guys aware you have to have 100k USD covid medical insurance, 14 days quararined hotels paid up front. From last I heard it costs thousands right now to go to Thailand. There's tons of in Vietnam that are waiting but there is no flights from here to Thailand let alone the UK. It's going to cost you alot to go there now.
Strange this is official site from Bangkok Airport and i also got my wife to check sabre website which is the portal most airlines use and says flights available.
Thailand uses Semi commercial flights, all flights into Thailand are semi commercial. Vietnam Airways is currently flying routes FROM hanoi and HCMC to Bangkok. You have to apply for a visa and a COE from the Thai embassy, just like you do in any other country to enter Thailand at the moment.
non of them are going to Thailand either not passengers atleast. You can check with Vietnam airlines directly. The Thai Embassy is 10 minutes walk from me as is a Vietnam airlines office.
there are no Vietnam airlines flights to Bangkok currently operating as commercial passenger flights. The PM of Vietnam banned all incoming commercial flights about two weeks ago due to a new outbreak. I have checked this with Vietnam airlines. There are loads of people here in Hanoi and many of us wish to return to Thailand. We have a Thai Embassy here in Hanoi and right now it's simply not possible without spending thousands and somehow getting a flight.
this is not a passenger flight. No passenger flights have been listed for months. You can check Skyscanner and Vietnam airlines website. All commercial flights to vietnam have been banned a few weeks ago by the pm.
I was lucky they got my passport and application on Monday and I got it back today with a 90 day TR visa . Did my COE online and it all went through within a few hours but I had the same problem with no email or messenger response π

You can not board the plane, no matter what visa you have, without a certificate of entry from the Thai embassy.

Is this to do with the website being down for submitting visa applications?
