Hi,

I'm arriving in Thailand on a tourist visa and am unable to file the TM 30 on Thailand's immigration website. As I will be staying at a hotel for a week and after staying at my own accommodation, will the hotel be able to file the TM30 on my behalf and should I be filing the application for extension right after my stay in the hotel? Will immigration ask or do I have to declare in the form that I'm no longer staying at the hotel but at my own residence?

Can the filing for visa extension be done anytime during my stay or must it be towards the tail end of my visa period?

The hotel is required to file the TM30 upon your checkin. Ask for a screenshot to show Thai immigration if asked.

You can apply for the 30 day extension before the end of your first 30 days.

He is arriving on a tourist visa which should be for 60 days and didn't state what immigration office he will be using. Isn't the first 30 days too early for the many offices which require 30 days or fewer left?

yes...with a TR single entry tourist visa.... Normal to go to immigration office during the last 30 days for the added 30 day extension.

Best to ask the local inmigration office of their extension rules. Some all to extend within 45 days. Many within 30 days and Jomtien prefers during the last week.
