 I'm sure this has been answered somewhere here, but I am on an ED Visa that requires a 90 day report before April 30th. My school is asking me to pay a big chunk of money for training even though the school is closed, in order to extend for another 90 days. Will I be covered if I wait until July to do my 90 day report? Thanks.

Classes and study has ENDED.

Tell Thai immigration you have ended your Ed Visa...

Then you would be covered under the Amnesty program to July 31.

But BE SURE YOU NOTIFY THAI IMMIGRATION....as suggested by

Another Moderator had a valid point; you could get paperwork from your school saying you are stopping studying on xxx date (the date your current extension expires), GO to the immigration office, cancel this extension and THEN you could qualify for the amnesty.

You wouldn't be able to get it just letting your extension run out because that doesn't cancel an extension

If you're wondering if you don't get your extension would you be covered on the amnesty I'd guess NO you wouldn't be covered at all and end up on overstay. BUT that's just my guess

Why would the school "require a big chunk of money' to give you the documents from the MOE <- which is still issuing documents so students can get extensions on ED visas?

Did you pay for a year's tuition when you enrolled? Once you sign up and pay the tuition most schools give the ed visa support documents and you go get your ED visa extension at the immigration office like normal.

It sounds like you need to pay the tuition to your school to get the paperwork so you can get your extension :/

Most "real" schools I know of are teaching their classes online and people can still "attend" the minimum hours needed to get their extensions

I believe you are on an EXTENSION OF STAY on an ED visa that you get every 90 days (in addition to doing a 90 day reporting which is free).

Sorry yes that sounds right. I feel like I should understand the visa procedures by now, but I still don't understand the difference here.
