I am on a 1 year guardian visa based on being the parent of a Thai child. At the end of this visa extension, I will not have the 400k or the 40k monthly to apply for the next year. So I plan to apply for the 60 day family visit extension (while I get the 400k together). At the end of the 60 day family visit extension, Is it possible to return to the guardian visa extension at the end of the 69 day family visit extension, without leaving Thailand?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is currently on a 1-year guardian visa due to being a parent of a Thai child and plans to apply for a 60-day family visit extension to gather necessary funds for the next year. The comments confirm that it is indeed possible to use the 60-day extension to buy time for the funds, but caution that most immigration offices allow only one family visit extension per entry, which could affect future extensions.
Keep in mind most immigration offices allow only ONE 60 day visit family extension per entry, so if you've used that before since you've last entered the country it will most likely not be available to you
I have never used the visit family extension before. The last time I entered Thailand was on a 10-month Ed visa, and I had that changed into a 1-year guardian visa without leaving the country. The 1-year guardian visa is now coming to an end, and I will try to get the extra time to raise money using the 60-day visit family extension.
at the moment Iβm not interested in that option. Thanks for the idea.

Yes, you could use the "60 day visit family" extension to buy you the time you need to get the funds together for your year extension and then apply for it when that 60 days is running out

David Broadfoot Thatβs good to know that it has been extended. I did not see the announcement but I will go look for it. And thanks also for the tip to do it near the end of my current extension. Cheers mate!

David Broadfoot I think the last day to do the Covid extension is today, and my current visa extension expires at the end of July. So thereβs not much used to do it, or will it give me extra time at the end of my current extension?

Can he return to the extension or does he need to do the visa?
