Hi. On my last visit to Thailand in June the immigration officer at Phuket airport asked me if this would be my last visit this year. I think because I had already entered Thailand twice this year.  Will I be able to enter again this year or must I wait until it resets on January 1st ? T.I.A

Hi Paul. Todd. I take in your advice and thank you. I have entered three times this year but since i last left Thailand on Sept 2 i have visited four different countries in Europe. Hope that helps me out at immigration. I will book for early December in Phuket and also an onward ticket leaving before 60 days. Fingers crossed i get in.

No. I think you misunderstood. There is no more explicit limit, but after a few entries, immigration can ask you what you're doing in the country.

Now, if you were to come and go regularly but spend only like a week in the country on each visit, spending MORE time outside Thailand than in, you'll likely be granted entry without questioning or incident.

The problem is, way too many foreigners are spending most of their time in Thailand on visa-exempt entries and then expect to be allowed to re-enter without trouble, almost as if they had a "right" to come back in. This is not so. Don't abuse the privilege.

There is no 'reset after the new year' on entries by air or land. Since they went to 60 day entry they have gotten a LOT harder on letting people in who have extensive entry/stay history in thailand.

Whether you get in or not will come down to the officer you're standing in front of at passport control when you stamp in. If they think you're living here on free stamp entries, they'll ask for proof of onward travel <- SO have proof you're leaving within the 60 days you will get stamped in for.

It's all you can do and hope for the best..
