So, I'm in Thailand on my 30 day extension of my original 60 day tourist visa, which expires on March 24. I just got back from Bangkok where I got my income affidavit from the US embassy. I've heard it is possible to go to Samui immigration and convert my tourist visa into non O and then apply for yearly retirement extension. Has anybody done this? Could anyone explain the steps to me? Or is it better to leave the country on the 24th, and get a non O to begin with, and then come back for the yearly extension? I'd rather not have to leave the country if I don't have to. Thanks
