Hi, i have understood that it might be possible to change visa type after arrival to kingdom. My question is about possibility to get non-o visa (stay with Thai family) if have arrived with Visa exemption p.30? 

I have had non-o visa before but did not apply visa this time because I had planned for just short visit. Our marriage is also registered in Thailand if it matters.

Thank you, I will go to immigration to ask more about this case. We are physically living at Koh Samui island but my wifes Tabian Baan is in Khorat, where she technically is living. Is it relevant?

doesn't matter at all, thaiz all over the country are registered in one house book but live somewhere else. Some thais are still registered in the original house book back in the province where they were born :P

SOME immigration offices do the in country conversion from a 30 day visa exempt or a 60 day tourist visa or a 30 day extension from one of those to a 90 day Non-O visa. You need between 15 and 21 days left on your current stamp AND you need to live in an area where the immigration office does do the conversions.

The best thing you can do is go check with your immigration office to make sure they can do it and get the hand out that lists the financial requirements and documents needed to do the extension.

Oh, how mandatory is it to have 15-21 days left in stamp? Currently I'm already overdue my original stamp but I should be on the special permission until 30:the April. Is that also valid in case? Or should I get first the 30 days extension and then apply to change it as non-o?
