It’s not necessarily an easy task to be able to find a way to stay here long term, doesn’t mean it can’t be done..Also, I would say Thailand is “generally safe”. That doesn’t mean it’s free from crime and general issues you would find anywhere else. The roads are however, statistically some of the most dangerous in the world. That is always a consideration when looking at a new place to live..

, I am not sure how much that has to do with it. The vegetarian traditions of Buddhism are usually associated with the Mahayana School. Most Southeast Asian Buddhism (aside from Vietnam) is Theravada. If you were to ask me, I would say: it is hard to find strict veg food in this country unless you go to one of those specialty "Je" food stalls with yellow awnings.
